From Dr. Kristin Heeney - OHIP Coverage is Changing
The Ontario Government has announced new OHIP coverage for Eye Examinations. On November 1, 2004, OHIP will no longer cover regular eye examinations for Adults aged 20 to 64 years. Additionally, a referral from your family physician will be required for OHIP eligible insured medical services (e.g., red eye, diabetes, glaucoma, etc.).
OHIP will continue to cover:
- Children aged 0 to 19 years ? One full eye examination annually.
- Seniors aged 65 and above ? One full eye examination annually.
